Emergency repairs for 'deteriorating' building

Plans for emergency repairs to a "deteriorating" building in Nottingham city centre have been approved.
The city council has given the green light for work to be carried out on the 19th Century, Grade II listed, four-storey premises along Angel Row, off Market Square.
A planning application said the work would allow a new retailer to move into the vacant property - formerly occupied by a gaming store.
The Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) said applicant Johal Pension Fund completed some work to restore the property in 2022.
However, the building remained in a "deteriorating state of repair", planning documents said.
On Monday, the council approved emergency repairs to the interior and exterior of the entire building, including the cellar, ground floor and an alleyway.
The work will prevent its "structural failure" and stop further "deterioration", developer documents said.
The documents said the proposed works would not adversely affect the character of the listed building.
