A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after a takeaway delivery driver was dragged from his vehicle and robbed at knifepoint in Huddersfield.

The driver had been to deliver a meal to an address in Poplar Street, Birkby, on 3 December when he was pulled from his car and threatened by three males.

West Yorkshire Police said the suspects then fled with the takeaway, leaving the driver "shaken" but unharmed.

The force said the teenager had been arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of robbery and released on police bail.

A force spokesperson said: "We are continuing to investigate this incident and are exploring the possibility that suspects put in a fake order to the takeaway business in order to lure a driver to the location.

"We very much want to speak with any witnesses and particularly anyone who has dashcam or CCTV footage which shows the offence or a group of three male suspects approaching the driver or leaving the area."
