Drug dealer jailed for more than three years

A dealer who had previously been convicted twice of drug-related offences has been jailed for more than three years.
Emmanuel Oluwaseye, 19, of Littlecote Grove, Walton, Peterborough, was caught by police as he attempted a drugs deal in an underpass last September.
After his arrest, police found almost £13,000-worth of crack cocaine and almost £1,800 in cash in his car.
Oluwaseye admitted possessing cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis as well as acquiring criminal property – the cash –and was jailed for three years and eight months at Peterborough Crown Court on Thursday.
Plain-clothes officers were on patrol near Padholme Road, Eastfield, last autumn when they spotted two drug users loitering in an underpass before Oluwaseye joined them on an e-scooter, Cambridgeshire Police said.
An officer approached just as drugs and cash were about to be exchanged. Oluwaseye ran off and was seen throwing away a package which contained £690-worth of heroin and crack cocaine, and a burner phone.

They also found £800-worth worth of heroin and crack cocaine and a small amount of cannabis in a flat where he had been staying.
Although Oluwaseye refused to answer questions in a police interview, messages on his phone indicated his involvement in drug dealing.
Det Con Lloyd Davis praised the work of the neighbourhood policing team who caught Oluwaseye, saying: "From suspecting an initial drug deal on the street, this case snowballed with the team finding more and more drugs, along with recovering the phone he tried to ditch which proved to have vital evidence on it, leading to his conviction.
"Oluwaseye has previous convictions for drug offences in 2021 and 2022, so has clearly not learnt his lesson. Now that he is an adult and been handed several years in prison, I hope he has time to reflect on his actions."
Oluwaseye was ordered to forfeit the cash seized, which would be distributed to local charities and support services, police said.
