Can Bach soothe the barks?

Catrin Davies of Beti Bach Dog Day Care certainly hopes so after her plans to convert stables into dog kennels raised concerns about noise disruption.

Other residents supported the kennels at Wern Stables in Llandyrnog as it already employs people from the area.

Ms Davies changed the use of the stables, but no physical alterations have been made, and she has been trying to get planning permission for the new venture.

Beti Bach Dog Day Care opened on 30 July 2021 and has been working from the stables since September 2022.

The planning application said: "Classical/Soothing music is played within the kennels as it is scientifically proven to have a calming impact on the dogs."

It also said "any problematic dogs" who consistently bark will be banned.

The business "has been very successful" since operating from this location and the application said there is always a member of staff present for boarding dogs overnight.

Denbighshire council planners will look at the application before a decision is made.
