Duke's college visit 'recognition' of staff's hard work

The Duke of Edinburgh was given a tour of a college for children with special educational needs and disabilities during a visit to Shropshire.
Prince Edward was shown around Derwen College in Gobowen, Oswestry, on Tuesday, which included a look at the site's dedicated Duke of Edinburgh Centre.
During the visit, the prince spoke to staff and students about the work that goes on at the college.
Speaking to BBC Radio Shropshire, learning support assistant Andrea Hamilton said receiving a visit from a member of the Royal Family was "amazing".
"It's definitely good recognition of all the hard work that the staff put in and the support they give to the students," she said.
"I think it's such an honour for him to come and visit us. It's been great."
Ms Hamilton said Prince Edward asked her what the students enjoyed doing and described the conversation as "really lovely".
Sports co-ordinator Steve Evans said the visit felt like a stamp of approval for the college's work on the Duke of Edinburgh Award over the last 11 years.
Prince Edward also went to OsNosh community cafe and The New Saints Football Club at Park Hall Stadium during his visit to Oswestry.
