Public views sought on art gallery redevelopment

Plans for a major redevelopment of a museum and art gallery are being put to the public for feedback.

Herefordshire Council is hosting a series of meetings to hear locals' ideas and suggestions for what they want to see in the museum.

The Hereford Museum & Art Gallery, in Broad Street, is undergoing a "significant" refurbishment with the aim of "reflecting the diverse heritage of Herefordshire and bringing local history and personal stories to life in engaging and meaningful ways."

A public consultation into the plans will run from 8 November until 6 December.

Museum lead Damian Etheraads said he was excited to hear from local residents and ensure that their voices were reflected in the new museum and gallery.

“The people of Herefordshire are the custodians of its history.

"The redevelopment is about capturing the rich tapestry of stories, objects, and traditions that make our community unique," he said.

Each meeting will be 90 minutes long and is said to offer an opportunity for locals to suggest events, traditions, and people that should be featured in the museum.
