Arrests after two crashes during police pursuit

Three people have been injured and two people arrested after a car collided with five other vehicles during a police pursuit.
Avon and Somerset Police said traffic officers spotted a car driving without insurance along Market Street in Highbridge, Somerset, on Wednesday afternoon.
Police pursued the Volkswagen car but it failed to stop and was involved in two crashes - one on Market Street involving two other vehicles and another on the A38 Bristol Road involving three other vehicles.
No one was seriously hurt but three people did need to be treated by paramedics, one of whom was later taken to hospital.
Two people were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving while under the influence of drugs, going equipped to steal and failure to stop.
The roads were closed while emergency services attended but they have now been reopened.
