Proposals for 825 more homes at growing community

Plans for a further 825 homes at a growing Leicestershire community have been unveiled.
Early proposals have shown that the homes could form an extension to the New Lubbesthorpe development, near Leicester Forest East.
The Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) said developer Hallam Land had earmarked 111 acres (45 hectares) of farmland between Beggars Lane and Desford Road for the scheme.
The development would be a mixture of affordable properties, homes for older people and private housing, the LDRS said.
'Upper ceiling'
A formal planning application has yet to be lodged with Blaby District Council but developer documents suggest a new local centre, with shopping and community uses, and a primary school could also be built.
The LDRS said some 4,250 homes were already proposed at New Lubbesthorpe - of which 1,148 have been completed.
Hallam Land said, in documents, the 825-home figure was an "upper ceiling" for the latest development.
The firm said the number may end up being lower when a planning application is officially lodged.
