A music festival is coming to Grantham this summer

A celebration of music and colour will take over a town park in the hope it could become a regular feature.

A busking festival will take place on 9 August at Wyndham Park in Grantham.

The summer event will include street entertainers, musicians and performers.

Alison Lewis, from South Kesteven District Council, said: "This experience is the result of public demand and is also something called for in our regular surveys of what people would like to see in Wyndham Park."

Ms Lewis added: "We know people really appreciate live music and the way it lifts the mood and makes for a more enjoyable day out."

The council said Wyndham Park Cafe would be open on the day. Other attractions, such as the family splash pool, are also expected to be available.

Busking spots must be booked in advance from the council and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
