Health professionals in Guernsey are hoping to "break down the stigma" around eating disorders.

During Eating Disorders Awareness Week, islanders have been urged to come forward for support with eating disorders.

Emily Barrasin, clinical psychologist, said: "We would like to increase public understanding of the various types of eating disorders and how they differ from one another.

"We hope that if we can help to break down the stigma around eating disorders on the island and debunk some of the myths around them, this will encourage more people who are suffering to reach out for support from their loved ones, or from the services available to them here in Guernsey."
