Coastguards rescue 17 people cut off by rising tide
Coastguards are urging people to consider tide times after crews rescued 17 people who were cut off by the tide.
Tamar and Looe coastguard rescue teams were called to help a group of people near Tregantle Fort in Plymouth on Friday at about 18:00 GMT.
Paddy Cochran, from Falmouth Coastguard, said the group of people were recovered within an hour and a half.
"We had three lifeboat taskings and six rescue team taskings and these were nearly all to people cut off by the tide," he said.
"If you are going out to have a little barbecue or going to the beach in the evenings, I know the weather has improved a little bit, but please make sure you are off the beaches in time to avoid unnecessary call outs."
