Police officer is dragged along road in hit and run

Two men have been arrested after a hit and run in which a police officer was dragged along a road by a van.
The officer was on foot patrol in Bristol when a white Ford Transit hit him while he was attempting to stop a vehicle from driving in a bus lane.
The van dragged him a short distance along the A4 Bath Road near Totterdown Bridge, then left the scene without stopping, Avon and Somerset Police said.
Two men, aged 18 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm and failure to stop, following the incident on Wednesday morning.
"Thankfully, the officer did not sustain any serious injuries," said a police spokesperson.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have footage that could help the investigation is asked to contact Avon and Somerset Police on 101.
