Woman with cancer giving away 'hope' pendants

A woman from Guernsey who has been receiving chemotherapy treatment for cancer said she wanted to help others "facing difficult times".
Catherine Best was diagnosed in August 2024 and said she had been "deeply moved by the kindness and support" she had received.
Ms Best, who has been a jeweller for 35 years, said she wanted to give away some of her jewellery for free to people as a "symbol of hope".
She said she had 10 specially designed pendants which she said have a "profound meaning to her".

She said: "I've just seen so many people go out of their way to help me.
"They are just the most phenomenal people and I think it will just give other people's strength and hope."
Ms Best has urged people to nominate a friend, family member, or community member facing challenging times to receive a pendant.
They can be nominated on Ms Best's website.
Ms Best said: "I've never felt sorry for myself during any of this. But I think I'm going to hear certain stories that will make my journey [feel] like a piece of cake."
