Firefighters have been tackling a blaze at a derelict two-storey warehouse in Colchester.

Crews had been told there "may be people" in the building when they were called to Hythe Station Road at 11:38 GMT, but the ambulance service was later told no-one was inside.

Firefighters used an aerial ladder platform.

The service later said it had conducted a full search of the building and were extinguishing hot spots.

The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust said it did not treat any patients at the scene.
