A sex offender has been jailed after multiple breaches of a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO).

Alistair Eccleston, 26, from Swindon, pleaded guilty to five breaches, which included being in the company of a person under 16 and communicating with a person under 16.

A further 10 breaches were also taken into consideration when he was jailed for three years and four months at Swindon Crown Court.

Wiltshire Police Sgt Scott Young said: "Eccleston is a clear danger to the public who has consistently breached the SHPO put upon him."

Sgt Young said the order was implemented in 2021 to protect the public and Eccleston "repeatedly broke" conditions he was aware of.

"These are serious offences and I'm pleased the court has seen fit to give him a custodial sentence," he added.

Sgt Young thanked witnesses for coming forward and said their efforts had "helped put a prolific offender behind bars".
