A non-league football club is giving volunteers extra time to help get its ground ready for a historic FA Cup tie.

Kettering Town have added another "volunteer day" - when fans help spruce up the stadium - ahead of their second-round match against Doncaster Rovers.

The Poppies - who play in the seventh tier of English football - beat League One neighbours Northampton Town to reach round two for the first time since 2010.

The club had planned two volunteer days this month to get its Latimer Park ground ready for upcoming fixtures. Now a third has been scheduled.

In a statement on social media, the club said: "Due to the exceptional response to our advertised volunteer days on the 14th November and 28 November 2024, we are adding an additional day on Sunday 17th November."

The volunteers will be painting, doing ground maintenance and general tidying and refurbishing.

Kettering Town take on Doncaster Rovers in the the FA Cup on 30 November.
