A car has crashed through a shop front in an East Sussex town.

The crash happened just before 07:00 BST on Church Street in Seaford, East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service (ESFRS) said.

The car hit the glass window of a shopfront, impacting another parked vehicle, it added.

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash and no arrests were made, according to Sussex Police.

Police are investigating how the car left the road and crashed into the shop

ESFRS said crews arrived "swiftly" and confirmed no one was trapped inside the vehicles or shop wreckage.

Fire fighters then worked with police to ensure the scene was safe and to assess the building's condition.

It said there was no "structural damage" to the building beyond the shop and window frames.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation

The cause of the accident is under police investigation.

Sussex Police has urged anyone who witnessed the incident or has CCTV of the area to call or email the force.

Recovery of both vehicles was arranged, it added.
