Detectives are asking people to think about whether they recognise this man

Police have released images of a suspect appearing to be carrying a crossbow after a man was threatened with one in Bow, east London, on 21 October.

The victim was walking along Alfred Street between 12:00-12:30 BST when he was approached by a man who was verbally aggressive to him and threatened him with the weapon before leaving the scene, police said.

The victim was not injured but was said to have been left shaken by the encounter.

Det Inspector Nikki Hardy urged people to look at the images of the suspect and "think about whether they recognise him or know where he may be".

Detectives said they were looking into whether this incident is linked with two attacks in Shoreditch in March this year and were keeping an "open mind".

A woman and a man were hit by bolts in separate incidents on 4 and 14 March.

A man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in relation to these attacks but was later released.
