Man, 70s, dies in collision between car and lorry

A man in his 70s has died after a collision involving a car and a flatback lorry.

Police were called to the junction of Roxwell Road and Vicarage Road in Roxwell, Essex, following reports of a serious collision shortly before 13:30 BST on Friday.

The man, who had been driving the car, died at the scene.

The road was closed between Boyton Cross and Lordship Road for six hours before reopening shortly before 19:30.

Essex Police confirmed no arrests had been made but are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has dashcam footage to get in touch.
