Police are appealing for information after a woman reported an out-of-control dog tried to bite her.
Derbyshire Police said the incident happened in Church Avenue, adjacent to St John the Baptist Church in Tideswell, at about 00:30 GMT on 19 January.
In an appeal shared on Saturday, the force said the dog ran towards the woman in "an aggressive manner and attempted to bite her" before being put back on its lead by its owner.
The dog was described as a black Alsatian and its owner as a white man in his 30s, police added.
Anyone with information or relevant CCTV footage has been asked to contact the force.
