'Four in a Bed' appearance has boosted business

The owner of a bed and breakfast says its appearance on a Channel 4 programme has been "good for business".

The Roade House in Roade, Northamptonshire, featured as one of the venues on Four in a Bed.

The show sees four sets of owners stay at each other's B&B establishments and rate them for cleanliness, service and food, with the winners announced at the end of the week.

Paul Bullwright, who runs the house with his wife Maxine, said he was initially "concerned with how [the business] would be portrayed" but described the finished programme as "great".

The Bullwrights bought the Roade House in 2019, but did not open it as a B&B until 2023.

They now have eight rooms available - double the initial four when it opened.

Filming for the show took place over a two-week period, with the couple travelling around the country.

Mr Bullwright said appearing on the programme was "great publicity" and revealed that they had seen increased bookings due to the appearance.

He added: "It went as well as we could have expected, and although there's always room for improvement, we've addressed all the issues brought up [by the other contestants].

"It was a really fun experience. We couldn't be happier."
