Roads in a Surrey town centre will be closed on Wednesday afternoon for a series of cycle races.

The Guildford Town Centre Cycle Races will see riders take on a course which starts at the top of the High Street, adjacent to Holy Trinity Church, before continuing down the road and then onto North Street.

Riders will descend on North Street before continuing onto Market Street, before taking a 90-degree left turn onto the cobbled High Street.

Roads will shut from 12:45 BST ahead of the races, which start at 17:45 and continue through until 20:35.

The races, fought out by the country's top road racers, are part of the Guildford Festival each year.

The evening commences with a series of youth races. The main women's and men's races will start from 19:30.
