More disabled parking spaces introduced near coast
More disabled parking spaces have been introduced across the coast in Guernsey.
The States said it had installed 11 new temporary accessible parking spaces with an aim to make them permanent "if they prove popular".
It said the island was home to about 13,000 disabled people and increasing parking options was "just one way to make it easier for disabled islanders" to enjoy community activities.
Gill Evans, States disability officer, said it had worked with Traffic and Highway Services and Ports to make parking more accessible.
She said: "The States of Guernsey is keen to meet the needs of disabled islanders, and providing more blue badge parking spaces provides more choice for blue badge holders when visiting St Peter Port and other beautiful coastal areas around the island."
The temporary spaces were introduced at:
- Fort Hommet
- Petit Bot
- Les Amarreurs
- L'Eree
- Port Soif
- Vazon
- Bordeaux
- L'Ancresse East
- Richmond
- Grandes Rocques
Permanent spaces can be found at Crown and Albert Pier, Castle Emplacement and St Julian's Emplacement.
The States said spaces had been placed at kiosks, toilets and viewing points.
