A stretch of the M4 that closed overnight, after a crash and fire involving a car and a van, has reopened.

The crash happened on the westbound carriageway in Berkshire, between junction 11 for Reading and junction 12 for Theale, at about 17:30 GMT on Tuesday.

National Highways said both vehicles were completely burnt out after the car fire spread to the van involved.

The motorway was closed overnight for resurfacing works due to the damage caused to the road following the fire.
