Children find suspected bullets buried in grass

A field was cordoned off overnight after children found suspected bullets buried in grass.

Cleveland Police said a search was being carried out around Staindale Place in Thornaby.

Children made the discovery at 17:30 BST on Monday afternoon and the suspected ammunition has been taken away for forensic testing.

Officers are conducting an investigation into the origin of the bullets.
