Woman hit by car left critically injured

A woman has been left critically injured after she was hit by a car in Lancashire.

It happened at about 17:30 GMT on Wednesday on the A6 in Lancaster at the junction with Sir John Fisher Drive, police said.

Sgt Tom Malley said: "First and foremost my thoughts are with her and her loved ones as she receives treatment."

Police are asking anyone in the area with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.

Lancashire Police said a Dacia Sandero car was involved and the woman was taken to hospital.
