A woman has described how she ran after Sharon Osbourne in a football stadium's car park to reunite her with her wedding ring.

Mrs Osbourne was at Villa Park in Birmingham for the launch of their new store when her wedding ring was found on the floor.

The diamond ring was picked up by Natalie Morris, who asked Aston Villa fan Sharon Bardsley if it was hers, with Ms Bardsley quickly realising who it belonged to.

Ms Bardsley ran after Mrs Osbourne to give her the wedding ring, shouting "you've dropped your ring", and was thanked with a hug.

The 51-year-old, who was at the launch with her 15-year-old son, told him to wait in the shop queue so they would not lose their place and ran into the car park after Sharon.

"I thought, it's got to be hers, there were a lot of diamonds shining on it," she said.

"The best thing is that Natalie thought it was my Pandora ring and put it in my hand."

The TV personality and wife of singer Ozzy Osbourne took to Instagram afterwards to say she was "so grateful" and asked who the mystery woman was so she could thank her directly.

Mrs Osbourne said she had previously had a wedding ring stolen and that losing this one would have been terrible

She was in attendance at the opening of the Villa store after her husband helped launch the new club kit in July.

"Not only did you save me from losing one of my most cherished items, but you also restored my faith in people," she said.

"I would love to thank you sincerely, if you are on Instagram or someone knows her Instagram page please post in my comments below!!!"

Osbourne said her original wedding band had been stolen some years ago and her husband had got her a new one.

"If I’d lost this it would’ve been terrible. So just thank you, thank you, thank you for returning it to me," she added.

Ms Bardsley, who runs a coffee shop in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, was quickly identified on social media after the post and told the BBC it was lovely to reunite Osbourne with her ring.

"I ended up with a big hug, it was lovely to give it back to her. It was a natural thing to do - it wasn't mine and it wasn't the other lady's. Sharon was the only other woman there."

She added she had been overwhelmed by the social media storm of the past few days.

"I'm not jumping on Instagram, I've only just learnt about private messaging," she said.
