Woman cleared of perverting justice after man shot dead

A woman who was charged with perverting the course of justice after a man was shot dead on the Isle of Sheppey has been cleared.

Daisy Donohoe, 35, of Burnell Avenue, Welling, was found not guilty after a trial at Maidstone Crown Court.

Sam Petrou, 35, was found dead by Kent Police at an address in Fourth Avenue, Eastchurch, on 11 June last year.

Jonathan Lawlor, 41, had been charged with murder but died in custody before the trial went ahead.

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) confirmed Mr Lawlor, 41, of no fixed address, died on 19 October.

An MoJ spokesperson said the Prison and Probation Ombudsman would investigate the death.

A pre-inquest review is to be held into Mr Lawlor's death in Maidstone in June.
