There have been delays to rail services after a person was hit by a train at Leagrave Railway Station in Bedfordshire.

Train lines between Bedford and Luton were closed at about 07:20 BST but have since reopened.

Thameslink said it was "very sorry to advise that a person has been hit by a train on this part of the network", and worked with Network Rail and the emergency services.

It added that services were returning to normal, all lines had reopened and trains were once again calling at Leagrave.

Bedfordshire Police said officers were supporting British Transport Police.

Thameslink said: "Please continue to allow additional time to complete your journey as we work to recover the service timetable."
