Lakeside holiday lodge owners plan expansion

A couple hoping to build more lakeside holiday lodges say their site is a "hidden gem" a few miles from a city.
Sharon De Luca and Angelo Dama own six holiday lodges overlooking a lake at Green End, Landbeach, near Cambridge.
They have applied to South Cambridgeshire District Council for planning permission to build a further six lodges.
The couple told the Local Democracy Reporting Service that they wanted to build more to meet demand.

Ms De Luca said they drove past the site one day and saw it was for sale, so went to take a look.
"I come from a bed and breakfast background, so it excited me and the place is lovely," she said.
The site is home to a range of animals - including donkeys, goats, alpacas, chickens, and peacocks - looked after by Ms De Luca's daughter, Zoe Fitzjohn.

The family bought the Waterside Lodges site around three years ago and said, since then, they had tried to create a peaceful place for people to stay.
They said the extra lodges could bring benefits, including creating jobs for people from the area and boosting trade for local businesses.
