A man has appeared in court charged with terrorism offences after allegedly sharing extremist Islamist videos on social media.

Mohammad Ahmad Malik, of Burnt Oak Terrace, Gillingham, Kent, appeared at the Old Bailey via video link from HMP Wormwood Scrubs.

Mr Malik, 22, a pharmacy student at University College London, is charged with the dissemination of three terrorist videos last year.

He was remanded in custody following his arrest on 14 January. Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb granted him conditional bail on the grounds of "previous good character".

Mr Malik will appear at a plea hearing at Winchester Crown Court on 9 May.
