Work starts on two new primary schools for 2025
Building work has started on two new primary schools in North East Lincolnshire.
Contractors have been preparing the ground at the sites in Waltham and Scartho.
Lincolnshire Gateway Academies Trust, which will be running both schools, said it was “excited” about opening them.
The schools received planning permission earlier this year and are due to open in September 2025.
Philip Jackson, the leader of North East Lincolnshire Council, said: “These two schools will provide some much-needed additional education provision for children in our area.”
The trust has held events for prospective parents in both villages to showcase its plans for Waltham Gateway Academy and Scartho Gateway Academy.
The schools are being built in Matthew Telford Park, Scartho, and on land off Sunningdale in Waltham, with funding from the council and the Department for Education.
