A man has died after a car crashed into a wall in Wolverhampton.

The incident happened at the junction of Ettingshall Road and Bilston Road shortly after 01:30 GMT on Tuesday, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

The 20-year-old man, who had become trapped in the car, was freed by emergency services but was found to be in a critical condition.

Paramedics carried out advanced life support but an ambulance service spokesperson confirmed he died from his injuries.

Bilston Road has since reopened.

West Midlands Police are investigating the circumstances of the collision, and have appealed to anyone with information, including dashcam footage, to contact them.
