Teenager airlifted to hospital after three-vehicle crash
A 17-year-old girl has been airlifted to hospital after a three-vehicle crash in south-west Scotland.
The accident happened on the B7079 at its junction with the A712, near Newton Stewart, at about 17:00 on Wednesday.
The teenager - who was driving a white Audi A1 - was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious injuries.
Her 15-year-old passenger was taken to hospital and discharged. The occupants of two other vehicles - a lorry and a Renault Clio - were unhurt.
The road was closed for about four hours to allow for an investigation at the scene.
Police have appealed for witnesses.
