Food award accolade in honour of chef Dave Myers

A food award is to be presented in honour of the late TV chef Dave Myers.
The Barrow-born presenter, who died of cancer in February 2024, is to be remembered at the annual Cumbria Food Awards.
Organisers have renamed the night's top prize the Dave Myers Cumbrian Food and Drink Hero trophy after the 66-year-old, who was one half of the Hairy Bikers with Si King.
Co-organiser Michaela Robinson-Tate said Myers had been a "very special person".
She said the chef had been "proud" of his home county and its "food heritage" and had hosted the first awards event in 2022.
This year's event takes place on 20 March at Kendal College and will be hosted by TV chef Matt Tebbutt of BBC's Saturday Kitchen.
'Never be forgotten'
Myers' widow Lili said the naming of the trophy "meant the world" to her and knowing how much her late husband was "appreciated".
The award will be presented during a gala evening which will be attended by 165 finalists, sponsors and special guests.
Ms Robinson-Tate said: "Dave Myers was a very special person and his support of Cumbria and our awards will never be forgotten.
"We are proud to name the night's top award after him and are grateful to Lili for supporting the plan."
A large-scale charity motorcycle rally, known as Dave Day, is due to return in June.
