Nine roads across Swindon are to be dug up and resurfaced over the next two months.

Swindon Borough Council has released a list of the affected routes, with some overnight closures set to be put in place.

A spokesperson for the authority said while work was due to be completed within the timeframes set out, plans were "subject to weather and unforeseen circumstances".

Access for residents and local businesses will be maintained, while diversions will be put in place for other drivers, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

Councillor Chris Watts, Swindon Borough Council's cabinet member for the environment and transport, said: "In order to build a better Swindon and help keep drivers moving, we need to make sure our roads are in the best condition they can be with our limited resources.

"We'll be undertaking more work to improve road surfaces throughout the year, but I'm glad we can start doing this important maintenance."
