Two murder arrests after "unexplained" death

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the "unexplained" death of a man in Doncaster.

South Yorkshire Police attended Orchard Street, Thorne, at about 23:15 BST on Tuesday to reports of a death.

A 47-year-old man was found unresponsive and he was pronounced dead at the scene, with the cause still unknown.

A man, 38, and woman, 42, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody.

Det Ch Insp Simon Cartwright said: "At this time the man's cause of death is unexplained and our team of detectives are working hard to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident.

"We are keen to hear from anyone with any information that could help our investigation."

The man's family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers, police said.
