King Charles was "touched" to receive letters of support and drawings from islanders

King Charles has thanked children in Jersey for their artwork and messages after a recent visit to the island.

A letter from Buckingham Palace said King Charles had been "touched" to receive letters of support and drawings.

The response comes after Jersey Post invited children to write to the King with their memories of the July visit in pictures or words.

The letters were then collected and sent on to Buckingham Palace free of charge for residents.

Buckingham Palace added: "It was so kind of you to take the trouble to write as you did.

"The King was touched to see your thoughtful letters of support following Their Majesties recent visit to Jersey, and greatly appreciated the care with which you created your artwork."
