Aberdeen FC applies for fan zone alcohol licence
Aberdeen Football Club has applied for a temporary alcohol licence for a pre-match fan zone trial outside Pittodrie Stadium.
The application for an occasional licence, lodged with the city council, comes as the club plans to hold an event ahead of the St Johnstone fixture on Saturday 7 December.
It would serve alcohol between noon and 14:45, before the 15:00 kick-off.
Any objections can be made until 20 November.
Home fans would be invited to claim a free ticket for the fan zone through the club’s ticketing platform.
The Dons are currently on the same points as champions Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership, on 31 points after 11 games.
Each have had 10 wins and a draw, which was when the clubs played each other. Celtic are top on a better goal difference.
Aberdeen has been aiming to try to improve fan engagement and the match day experience. The club declined to comment on the application.
