Girl, 12, taken to hospital after hit-and-run

A 12-year-old girl was rushed to hospital after she was hit by a driver who then drove off.

Thames Valley Police said a dark Volkswagen Golf crashed into the girl at the junction of Dee Road and Taff Way in Tilehurst on Friday at 15:30 BST.

Police reported the victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Investigating officer PC Louise Savory appealed for the public's help in the investigation.

"The driver in this incident did not stop and we are asking anyone who saw the collision or who may have [dashcam] or CCTV footage to get in touch," she said.
