'Dangerous' couple jailed for child sex crimes
A "dangerous" couple have been jailed for child sex crimes including making a video of the woman abusing a child and creating other indecent images.
Karl Robinson, 29, and Sophie Eason Edge, 28, both of Cottenham in Cambridgeshire, admitted making indecent images of children and sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13.
Robinson has been jailed for nine years and Eason Edge for four years.
Det Insp George Neal said the case was "horrific".
Cambridgeshire Police said the couple, who lived at Calvin Close, came to detectives' attention two years ago.
The force said it followed a tip-off to the National Crime Agency from the authorities in New Zealand about the sharing of indecent images of children online.
Robinson was found to have 537 indecent images of children "across his electronic devices", the force said.
Examination of those devices also "uncovered" a video of Eason Edge abusing a child.
"This was an horrific case which has ended in long sentences," added Det Insp Neal.
"I am pleased it has been recognised how dangerous these two are, and that they can no longer inflict that harm on others."
The pair were sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court last week.
On release, they will also have to serve six years on extended licence, and both were made the subject of 20-year sexual harm prevention orders.
