A Halloween fanatic has said he will “definitely scare some people” this spooky season after transforming his home for the 10th consecutive year.

Lorrie Thackeray has branded his home "Suffolk's scariest house" which, by day, is a modest residential property in Peterhouse Crescent, Woodbridge.

The 31-year-old first started turning his home into a creepy Halloween experience back in 2014 and the annual event usually attracts hundreds of brave visitors.

This year he is encouraging supporters to donate to Bowel Cancer UK - following his own mother's experience with the disease.

Mr Thackeray first developed his love for all things Halloween when he was just seven years old.

“I always used to decorate the front of my mum’s house and put speakers outside the window and play creepy music,” he said.

“Most children think about Christmas but I was always the opposite and loved Halloween and the history of it and that obsession grew with me really.

“I like the fear, but it always turns into laughter. Like a rollercoaster you get scared but once you are on it, and you get off it, you are happy.”

Mr Thackeray said people have previously waited 50 minutes to get into the house and 344 came to visit on one Halloween night.

“It has just grown so big," he said.

“I build all my own pneumatic props and I have built a jack-in-the-box which is definitely going to scare people - even the bravest of people."
