Old section of A30 reopens in Cornwall

A section of the old A30 in Cornwall has been reopened.
The new B3288, route between Chybucca and Boxheater, was opened to traffic for the first time on 2 March.
Its reopening comes after the road which replaced it, the A30 Chiverton to Carland Cross road upgrade, was opened in June 2024.
Andrew Alcorn, National Highways' programme manager for the A30 Chiverton to Carland Cross scheme, said: "Opening the new B3288 section will be good news for the village of Zelah and residents and businesses in that area."
He added: "We're progressing a significant amount of ancillary work, including planting, hedging and landscaping.
"While we progress towards completion in early summer, we thank people in advance for their co-operation and patience."
