Two Kent category wins in Shed of the Year awards

Two Kent sheds have won their categories in a national award scheme, with one being voted overall runner up in the whole competition.

A Gravesend shed built as a bar to watch England in the Women's World Cup came second in the Shed of the Year contest.

It also won the pub/entertainment category.

A shed in Herne Bay made of recycled material won the Nature's Haven category of the competition.

Zoe Bleach's Lionesses Den was created to host viewing parties for the Women's World Cup in Australia in 2023, and is kitted out with memorabilia and a bar.

Leianne Lockhart built her shed in Herne Bay from reclaimed wood and metal, as well as using recycled water and solar panels to provide lighting.

Named the Chateau, it was built to champion recycling and sustainability, and triumphed in the Nature's Haven category.

The winners were chosen by a public vote.

The winner of the title Shed of the Year 2024, sponsored by Cuprinol, was also made from recycled materials.

Wayne Dawber from Crewe in Cheshire created his shed, Wrinkly, Rusty and Retro, out of corrugated metal, a stable roof and windows from a demolished chapel.

Not one, but 2 Kent sheds have been celebrated in this years Shed of the Year Awards.
