Boy, 15, dies after being hit by car

A 15-year-old boy has died after being hit by a car while crossing the road outside a McDonald's in Bradford.

The teenager was struck by a black VW Golf GTI in Bradford Road, Eccleshill, at about 22:45 BST on Friday.

West Yorkshire Police said he was taken to hospital but later died as a result of his injuries.

A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and a drug-driving offence

Det Insp Paul Conroy said: "A number of enquiries remain ongoing into this very serious incident, which has resulted in a 15-year-old male tragically losing his life.

"We are working to support his parents and are appealing for any witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw the black VW Golf or teenager just prior to the collision taking place."

Police have asked anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.
