Officers received reports of three people being hit by pellets in Boston on Tuesday night

Four men have been arrested following reports of three people being injured when an airgun was fired at them.

Lincolnshire Police said a woman reported walking between Sleaford Road and Lister Way, in Boston, on Tuesday when she saw "a red barrel from a BB gun pointing out of a silver VW Golf before feeling a pellet hit her", just before 21:00 GMT.

An hour later a father and son claimed they "felt pellets hit them" as they left the town on the A16 heading towards Kirton.

Officers said they were also investigating reports of BB gun shots being fired from a silver car at people standing on the side of London Road in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The arrested men, aged 19, 20 and 21, remain in custody.

The force has appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
