Crash leaves biker with life-changing injuries

A motorcyclist has been left with life-changing injuries following a crash, police have said.

The collision, involving a grey BMW motorbike and a black BMW X1 car, happened on the A166 Stamford Bridge Road at Dunnington, on the outskirts of York, at about 15:05 BST on Monday.

The biker was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment to his injuries and he remained in a serious condition, according to North Yorkshire Police.

The road was closed for several hours as officers carried out their investigations at the scene, a force spokesperson said.

Anyone who saw what happened, or who may have seen the vehicles involved before the collision, was asked to get in touch with police.

Meanwhile, anyone with relevant dashcam footage was also asked to contact the North Yorkshire force.
