New £16.4m imaging suite set to open

A new £16.4m imaging suite is set to open in South Yorkshire.
The Montagu Community Diagnostic Centre, which offers MRI, CT and ultrasound scanning, is due to open in March.
Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (DBTH) said the facility in Mexborough would increase appointment availability, carrying out up to 80,000 more diagnostic procedures per year.
A spokesperson said 10 new radiographers had been recruited to run the service, with a further 11 being trained through its degree apprenticeship scheme.

The Trust said the centre, which will also provide endoscopy and cardiorespiratory services, had been designed to offer a "calm and accessible setting" for patients.
Sara Elliott, Head of Medical Imaging at DBTH, said: "Patient experience is crucial to delivering an effective diagnostic service, and the new imaging suite has been designed with comfort in mind.
"The interiors feature calming murals and muted warm tones to create a welcoming environment.
"The MRI scanning room includes mood-enhancing lighting, and patients can preselect the scenery displayed inside the scanner to help provide a distraction during the procedure."
