Pub regulars have said the staff's warm welcome is why their local has been rated the best in Staffordshire for a third consecutive year.

The Fitzherbert Arms in Swynnerton has been recognised in the National Pub & Bar Awards and their company, Cheshire Cat Pubs and Bars, recently picked up Best Drink Offering at the Publican Awards.

Landlady Rebecca Bailey believed the secret to the pub's success is having a great team making every guest 'feel like their at home.'

Head chef Connor Partridge said it was like being with one big family.

"It's a cosy country pub that's great for the village," says regular Aide.

The team are now opening a ten-bed guest house.

"I'm very proud. I started on my own, I had no team and we've built it up. We're just one big family," Mr Partridge said.

One customer, Kate, who travels 4 miles (6.4km) from Barlaston to visit the pub said it was perfect for a date night.
