A teenager has admitted killing his grandmother in Leeds.
Brandon Skelton, 18, pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of 60-year-old Mandy Barnett on the grounds of diminished responsibility at Leeds Crown Court on Thursday.
He pleaded not guilty to murder, a charge which was subsequently dropped by the prosecution on account of his admission.
Ms Barnett was found injured at a house in Prince Edward Grove, New Farnley, on 23 October 2023 and later died.
Skelton, who was 17 at the time of her death, appeared in court via video link from a secure unit.
Skelton, of Leasowe Close in Hunslet, is due to be sentenced on 9 May.
